ABSTRACT

AIM: COVID-19 has led to a global crisis not only in the health sector but also in the economic, social and education sectors, as well as the lives of common man. This paper reviews the origin, characteristics and transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 Virus and the preventive measures adopted by the world's nations to curb the effects of the pandemic. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: The temporal and spatial profile of the COVID-19 spread is highly dynamic and is progressively changing at a rapid pace. This article is an attempt to mitigate the pandemic threat by sharing the review outcome from an extensive literature survey on recent articles on COVID-19 and its impact. RESULTS: Statistical analysis presented by the World Health Organization and other health organizations explicitly indicates that optimized support and care extended to infected persons is the key to therapy, and the clinical effectiveness of alternative techniques is still under study. Though there have been announcements on the discovery of drugs for the virus, the authenticity of these reports are yet to be verified. CONCLUSION: Based on the review, it can be inferred that it is important to boost one's immune system and to stay healthy by developing healthy habits of food intake, sleep, exercise, personal hygiene and so on. Practicing social distancing with a self-motivated attitude will help to control the virus to a large extent. The current situation also demands a great sense of responsibility of people towards society by protecting oneself from the virus in order to protect the society one lives in.

ABSTRACT

Currently, COVID-19 causes a variety of irregular respiratory symptoms that need to be tracked and assessed in order to deliver prompt medical aid. Wearable sensors and various patient tracking systems provide enhanced health services. IoT based monitoring system using various wearable sensors can be implemented to provide immediate medical support to the patients which will reduce human errors and also can eliminate delays in decision making. This paper provides a systematic approach for measuring respiration rate through sensor-based measurement system with integration of IoMT (Internet of Medical Things) wireless communication protocol. This paper also provides a descriptive study on breathing signal extraction and monitoring. The wide range of scientific articles have been collected and reviewed for developing a smart respiratory monitoring system. The development of IoMT enabled piezo sensor based respiratory rate monitoring system is designed and tested with software and hardware programming environment for accurate measurement of respiration rate. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Objectives: Over the past one year, the effect of 2019-nCoV is drastically increasing and affecting entire human population. Due to these pandemic situations, people are facing many health-related problems which includes life threatening fears, heart problems, taking more unneeded medicine and most importantly critical thinking which leads to mental stress. This paper proposes the different possible strategies which help the people for avoiding these issues. Case Presentation: An approach for delivering a possible strategy on avoiding human health issues due to COVID-19 is done by the successful collection of reports from many infected people. The information from physical examination to successful treatment stages were analyzed from different infected patients and reported. Here, we reviewed the methodologies adopted for preventing the spread of corona virus from various origin and have listed the characteristic features of its behavior based on the real case reports. Method: The different age group patients are reviewed and possible relevant characteristic points on the important protocol, treatment procedure, steps to control the spread of this virus, guidelines to avoid other health issues and maintaining body health for fighting COVID-19 were collected and presented in the form of case reports. Conclusion: The different techniques which are presented in this paper help the patients as well as people in the world to face the pandemic situation very effectively mainly to live with COVID-19. This paper also presents the prospective study and summarizes the effects of corona virus in human health based on the infected patients experience. The systematic review on the characteristics of corona virus will provide a strong guideline to the people to identify and face the critical situation in very informative manner.
